United States Unemployment Rises Rapidly

 According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 533,000 Americans lost their jobs in Novemember of 2008. This caused the unemployment rate to jump up to 6.7 percent from the 6.5 percent it was in October.

The amount of people who were actually employed dropped 673,000, along with the amount of people who arn’t looking for employment.

Job losses cut across most industries:

The two increases that added 52,000 jobs were in education and health services. The government also added an addition of 7,000 more jobs. “State and local unemployment numbers for October will be reported in two weeks. For September, O.C. County was losing jobs at the fastest annual rate since 1991.”
